Why Ethos Mask?

For people who care about their safety and the safety of our healthcare heroes, yet are concerned about sustainability and comfort, Ethos Mask is the safe, customizable and comfortable protective mask that offers respiratory protection, while simultaneously reducing waste of personal protective equipment.


Our Team 

Nick DiGirolamo
Nick is an MBA student at the Rady School of Management at UCSD with a background in Project Management. Before business school, he managed critical parts of the building process of both Wells Fargo and Boston Consulting Group’s NYC headquarters. He also recently founded an online sales consulting firm. His passion for supply chain and entrepreneurial ventures drove him to seek an operational solution to contribute to the fight against COVID-19. Along with colleagues Amir and Mark, Nick has coordinated a supply chain to manufacture PPE and distribute it to healthcare facilities in need.
Amir Hassan
Amir is an MBA student at the Rady School of Management at UCSD with a background in Human Biology. He has been involved in various healthcare settings such as volunteering in hospitals, working in a private practice, and conducting research in a lab at UC Irvine where he earned his undergraduate degree. Additionally, Amir’s family owns and operates over 100 gas stations throughout California. His insight on healthcare and business have allowed him to focus his efforts on trying to find ways to alleviate the PPE shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mark Schultzel, MD
Mark is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery, and is the SuperSpecialist for shoulder surgery for the Sharp Healthcare system. He is a sports medicine physician for the US Olympic Committee and team physician for USA Kendo. He is also an MBA student at the Rady School of Management at UCSD, serving as President of the Rady Student Board.  Dr. Schultzel has extensive experience in international health through his work in medical missions to developing countries and as an instructor on shoulder arthroplasty in Japan.  He is driven to help support his colleagues fighting on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
